The official languages of the course are Spanish and English. There will be no translation service.

Systemic autoimmune diseases are a group of complex entities that share an immunological pathogenesis and a multiorganic affection. They frequently affect young women, so early and adequate treatment is essential to avoid consequences and deterioration of quality of life.

In the context of the collaboration between Cruces University Hospital and the University Hospital of Bordeaux, this first course of systemic autoimmune diseases is organized with the main objective of offering a practical vision of the diagnosis and treatment principles of these diseases. The results of collaborative studies between both hospitals will also be explained.

Objectives

To stablish the basic principles for a correct disgnosis, based on clinical and immunological parameters.

To offer pragmatic concepts about the disease treatment. A specific analysis Risk/benefit will be performed to select the best drug treatment.

To design the structure and protocols of an Auto-Immune Disease Reference Unit.

To widspread the results of reserch cooperative between the 2 Units of Autoimmune system of the Hospital Universitario Cruces-UPV/EHU and Hospital Universitario de Burdeos-UBX.
