16th Spanish Conference on Social and Environmental Accounting Research
Description
We are delighted to welcome you to the 16th Spanish Conference on Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR Spain 2027), which will take place in Donostia / San Sebastián from 29 September to 1 October 2027.
Since its first edition in Seville in 1997, the conference has become an established meeting point for researchers interested in social and environmental accounting and sustainability. Held every two years with the support of the Centro de Investigación en Contabilidad Social y Medioambiental (CICSMA), the conference provides a forum for presenting research, exchanging ideas, and fostering collaboration among scholars from different countries and institutions.
At a time of significant environmental, social and economic challenges, accounting and sustainability reporting have an essential role to play in promoting transparency, accountability and organisational responsibility. The conference will provide an opportunity to explore emerging research agendas, exchange critical perspectives and reflect on how accounting can contribute to a fairer and more sustainable society.
Building on the spirit of previous editions, we aim to create an inclusive, multidisciplinary and engaging environment where both established and early-career researchers can present their work, receive constructive feedback and develop new collaborative networks. The programme will feature parallel sessions and two plenary lectures delivered by Professors Rodrigo Lozano and Charles Cho.
Donostia / San Sebastián, renowned for its cultural heritage, gastronomy and outstanding natural setting, offers a wonderful location for this gathering. The conference will be hosted at the Carlos Santamaría Centre, on the University of the Basque Country’s (EHU) Gipuzkoa Campus. A welcome reception will take place at Donostia / San Sebastián City Hall on 29 September.
On behalf of the Organising Committee, we warmly invite researchers and practitioners to join us, share their research and experiences, and contribute to the ongoing debate on the present and future of social and environmental accounting.
We look forward to welcoming you to Donostia in 2027!
