Social turning points: windows of opportunity to save the planet

<p> Caty Arévalo, a journalist specialising in environmental news, co-founder of EFEverde and winner of the BBVA foundation award for conservation of biodiversity in 2017, used the event "Windows of Opportunity to Save the Planet" to outline the concept of social turning points: changes with a big multiplier effect able to bring about large-scale transformations and make a major contribution to solving environmental problems.</p>

<p> Andreu Escrivá author of the book "¿Y ahora yo qué hago? Como evitar la culpa climática y pasar a la acción" commented that in reality, the title should read "And what do we do now?"&nbsp; because climate change is a collective problem and the solutions have to be collective.&nbsp; We cannot be in individualistic approaches where "I have my little ecological plot. This is what suits capitalism and the companies that can sell us packs of climate solutions for our lives.&nbsp; We will buy them and think we are good green citizens instead of betting on the structural changes we need. The most important thing you can do is to join other people.”&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

Ihobe and APIA launch the Environmental Communication School on biodiversity and natural heritage at the UPV/EHU Summer Courses

<p> It will be held as part of the Sustainability Forum at the Miramar Palace in San Sebastián on 21 and 22 September.</p> <p> The School is being run for the second time and will analyse how communication can contribute to better knowledge and protection of biodiversity and natural heritage.</p>
