Ph.D. in Computer Science. Science and Technology Manager at BRTA (Basque Research and Technology Alliance). His professional career of more than 20 years has been developed jointly in the academia and manufacturing industry fields, tightly linked to Computer and Data Science within the framework of Business Intelligence based in Internet, combining the scientific and technology vision.

Dr. Garbisu is the Scientific Director at NEIKER, The Basque Institute of Agricultural Research and Development (Spain), where he leads the Soil Microbial Ecology Group (http://www.soilmicrobialecology.com). He obtained his PhD degree in Biology at King’s College London (1992). Then, he carried out postdoctoral studies in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the University of the Basque Country (1992-1993, 1996-1997) and in the Department of Plant Biology of the University of California at Berkeley (1993-1996). He has published more than 135 international papers (h-index=42), participated in more than 70 research projects, and taught a great deal of courses at the university level. He has participated in many scientific committees and acted as project evaluator for many organizations.

Jose Ignacio Hormaeche, is a Civil, Hydraulic and Energetic, Engineer. He is currently the General Director of the Energy Cluster of the Basque Country. The Energy Cluster Association (ACE) is a non-profit association established at the end of 1996 within the framework of the Basque Government's policy to promote the competitiveness of the industrial fabric. It currently integrates 172 companies and entities: energy operators, equipment and component manufacturers, engineering companies, service companies, as well as agents of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network and public agencies of the Basque Government. competitiveness of the Basque energy sector, with special attention to SMEs, through inter-business cooperation and public-private collaboration. Previously, José Ignacio has been Director of Operations of Gamesa and General Director of EVE (Basque Energy Agency), among others.

General Manager of ELIKA FUNDAZIOA, Basque Foundation for Basque Agri-Food Security from 2016 to the present and therefore member of the Management Committee of the Circular Economy Strategy of the Basque Country, co-responsible for the Circular Food Key Project of the Environmental Framework Plan of the Basque Country and participant in the Strategic Plan for Gastronomy and Food of the Basque Country. Elika Fundazioa has designed and implemented the Basque Strategy against Food Waste. It has created the Basque Platform against Food Waste in more than 100 organisations. Elika Fundazioa supports the Basque agri-food sector in the transition towards a more sustainable food system, following the Farm to Fork Strategy integrated in the Green Deal and the Basque Country 2030 Agenda.

Degree in Business Administration and Master in Advanced Management from Deusto Business School, Virginia has developed different positions of responsibility in the commercial and marketing department of Grupo EROSKI for more than 18 years. As Dr. of Innovation at BASQUE FOOD CLUSTER she promotes the improvement of the competitiveness of food companies by promoting innovation in cooperation focused on consumers and with the orientation of adding value to the market. Virginia combines her work with teaching at CámaraBilbao University Business School-ESIC, Cesine, Universidad Europea del Atlántico and IED Kunsthal Bilbao.

Arantza Murillas Maza works as Principal Investigator since 2004 in the marine research division of AZTI, in the field of the marine socioeconomics. She has a PhD in Economics. She has worked on research topics such as, the natural resources valuation, economic assessment of ecosystem services, fisheries management, maritime economy, blue growth and fisheries governance and sustainability. She has applied these expertise topics in more than 25 European projects and many other regional and national projects. Currently, she is leading an international consortium CABFISHMAN (INTERREG Atlantic Area) aiming to improve the protection of the marine environment and marine resources in the Northeast Atlantic area, through engaging small-scale fisheries and facilitating a stakeholder-led approach to the ecosystem-based management of fisheries to reach sustainable fish food. She authored more than 50 publications, including international peer-reviewed journals and some book chapters, being referee in many international journals. Member of the ICES Working Group for Resilience and Marine Ecosystem Services.

Doctor en Ingeniería Química por la Universidad del País Vasco (2017), Máster en Ingeniería de Materiales en la Escuela de Ingeniería de San Sebastián (2012/203) e ingeniero Químico por la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Bilbao en 2010. Desde noviembre de 2022 lidera el equipo de Sistemas de Hidrógeno en TECNALIA. Previamente trabajó en el CIC energiGUNE, llegando a liderar la línea de investigación de Gestión Térmica. Además, cuenta con experiencia internacional, en particular, realizó dos estancias de tres meses cada una de ellas, una en SUPSI en Lugano (Suiza) y otra en Fraunhofer ISE en Freiburg (Alemania). Durante su carrera profesional ha participado en más de 15 proyectos de financiación pública y/o privada, liderando 6 de ellos. Es autor de una patente, ha publicado más de 15 artículos publicados en revistas científicas de alto factor de impacto y ha presentado más de 20 trabajos en congresos internacionales.

Es Ingeniero de Telecomunicación por la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, y diplomado (1º ciclo) en CC Empresariales por la UNED. Ha sido además profesor en la Escuela de Ingenieros de Bilbao de la Universidad del País Vasco durante 8 años. Inició su andadura profesional en ALCATEL dedicado al diseño de sistemas de conmutación para la comunicación de datos. Posteriormente se incorporó a LABEIN. Su experiencia investigadora se ha centrado en el campo de la integración de la Generación Distribuida y las Renovables, liderando la participación en proyectos de los Programas Marco de la CE. En 2005, pasó a ser Director de la Unidad de Energía de TECNALIA, y en 2012 asumió la dirección de la División de Energía y Medio Ambiente. Desde 2022 es Director de Estrategia de la Unidad de Transición Energética, Climática y Urbana de TECNALIA, integrada por 450 investigadores. Es miembro de los consejos de administración de varias empresas de base tecnológica como Biokemik y Nautilus. También lo es del consejo de administración del centro tecnológico Nobatek. Asimismo, pertenece a las juntas directivas de varias asociaciones como EERA-European Energy Research Alliance, y el Cluster de Energía del País Vasco.

Roberto Ruiz Santos has a degree (1992) and a doctor (2000) in Veterinary Medicine, from the University of Zaragoza, and a Master in Rural Development and Agrifood Management (1994). After completing the doctorate he made a postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Ecology and Resource Management of the University of Edinburgh (2001-02), funded by the Basque Government, the OECD and the Marie Curie program of the European Commission. Subsequently, in August 2002, he joined the Department of Animal Production of NEIKER as a Researcher, with a contract funded by the Ministry of Agriculture (INIA), where he develops R+D projects focused on the sustainability of livestock systems. He has led R + D + I projects in relation to dairy and meat systems existing in the Basque Country. Since 2009, he is Head of the Animal Production Department in NEIKER.

Industrial Engineer from the University of Navarra, he has been working for the machine tool and manufacturing technology sector for more than 25 years. Great connoisseur of the national industrial ecosystem around manufacturing technologies, she is specialized in revitalizing inter-company cooperation activities in technological aspects such as participation in R+D+i projects of diverse scope, standardization and legislation activities, Surveillance and International Technological Prospective, entrepreneurship and industrial innovation, etc.

MSc in Mechanical Engineering with nearly 30 years of experience in R+D projects. In 1994 he started working in TEKNIKER involved in dynamic analysis for mechatronic design. During the following years participated and/or coordinated national and international projects for machine design on different sectors. From 2006 he acts as Coordinator for Renewable Energy within Tekniker, guiding the priority lines of research, coordinating the previously existing working groups in this area and serving as a liaison with national and international platforms and associations. The activities in this field are oriented towards three priority technologies: Wind energy, solar energy and energy storage and management.
