<p> A member of the WHO Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development chaired by Mario Monti, which is to guide countries on how to prepare their health systems for future pandemics, Rafael Bengoa was explaining why this commission will be closely linked to the environment. One of its jobs in the next 10 months will be to study and demonstrate the ever-closer link between environmental deterioration and world health.</p>

<p> La escuela busca fórmulas para abrir sus puertas en septiembre. Se quiere primar la presencia del alumnado, pero no se puede volver a las aulas tal y como se cerraron el pasado mes de marzo. Una alternativa ya existe y de hecho se ha utilizado en Dinamarca en plena pandemia: aprender en medio de la naturaleza.</p>

<p> La COVID-19 ha situado bajo el microscopio nuestra actividad cotidiana, imponiendo hábitos de relación que afectan a todo nuestro entorno personal y cuyas consecuencias están modificando nuestra actividad en el ámbito laboral, exigiendo cambios en las propias empresas, instituciones, actividades extractivas, productivas, docentes, etc… con vocación de continuidad en el tiempo. Osalan no se sustrae ante esta realidad y ya ha planteado un primer debate en el seno de los Cursos de Verano de la UPV/EHU.</p>

<p> Ignacio Zuloaga conoció la eclosión industrial en el País Vasco, la aparición del socialismo, el París de la boheme, la España del desastre del 98, la Primera Guerra Mundial además de la Segunda República española y la Guerra Civil. Todas estas circunstancias que influyeron en su obra serán expuestas por el historiador Juan Pablo Fusi, codirector del Curso de Verano en el que se analizarán algunos elementos centrales de la obra de Zuloaga, como es la revisión de la cultura popular. Se mostrarán algunas de las novedades que en torno a su pintura han surgido en los últimos años.</p>
