First CLARIAH-ES Summer School: Fostering Digital Humanities in the Era of Generative AI
Description
This in‑person course, organized by CLARIAH‑ES, is aimed at researchers, teachers, and students interested in digital humanities. Over the course of two days, research infrastructures at the European level (CLARIN and DARIAH), national level (CLARIAH‑ES), and local level (CLARIAH‑EUS) will be presented.
In addition, new methodologies in humanities research will be explored, such as the use of large language models (LLMs), both through chat interfaces and programming with APIs. The program includes lectures and hands‑on workshops that apply the knowledge acquired.
Participants are required to bring their own laptop computer.
Objectives
Raise awareness of European, national, and local infrastructures for digital humanities, such as CLARIN, DARIAH, CLARIAH-ES, and CLARIAH-EUS.
Train participants in the practical use of these infrastructures, including CLARIN resources (VLO, Switchboard, B-centre) and DARIAH resources (SSH Open Marketplace, DARIAH-Campus).
Explore new methodologies in humanities research based on large language models (LLMs), both through chat interfaces and by programming with APIs.
Promote the CLARIAH-ES community and strengthen the connection among researchers, teachers, and students in the field of digital humanities.
